The Middle East is a region where is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pushed up the cost of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing profitable too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
